William P. Longworth, Jr., 67, of Waverly Township, died suddenly on Monday, at home.
Bill was the son of the late William P. and Evelyn (Gress) Longworth, Sr.
Bill was a 1975 graduate of Abington Heights High School and earned a bachelors of science from Ithaca College and a masters degree in journalism from Temple University. Bill retired after 26 years as Director of Broadcast Services for the Senate of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Prior to that he worked as an anchor and reporter for WBRE TV, Free Lance Reporting for WPIX New York, NY, WEJL and WEZX DJ and news.
Bill was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Snows Church.
Bill is survived by an aunt, Judy Gress, cousins and his many friends and colleagues. Many thanks to his wonderful neighbors, Carol and Virginia, for always looking out for Bill and sharing many holidays with him.
The funeral will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated. Interment, Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly Township.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Clarks Summit Volunteer Fire Company or Our Lady of Snows Church.
