Virginia O’Hara Davis

Virginia (O'Hara) Davis, 76, Wilkes-Barre, died Thursday at Highland Manor, Exeter. She was the wife of the late Stanley Jay Davis, who died Dec. 29, 1983.

Born Oct. 10, 1945, in Summerville, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Carl William and the late Mildred Frances (Rodney) O'Hara. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School and received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from the University of Central Florida. She formerly was a teacher for the Orange County, Florida Public Schools.

Virginia enjoyed spending time with family, reading, listening to music, nature and going on walks. Although she split her time between Florida and Pennsylvania, she always considered Pennsylvania home and lived her last years there.

Surviving are a son, Gordon Davis and his wife, Alison, Ocoee, Fla.; a daughter, Pamela Michael and her husband, John, Dawsonville, Ga.; a brother, Carl O'Hara Jr. and wife, Maureen, South Abington Twp.; a sister, Patricia Moss and husband, Keith, Duryea; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son, Jeffery Scott Davis, who died March 15, 2020. Surviving daughter-in-law, Cara, Nashville, Tenn.

The funeral will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Dr. Al Cremard, pastor emeritus of Independent Bible Church of Duryea. Interment, Clarks Green Cemetery.
