Virginia Marie Lammers, 54 years, Pawtucket, R.I., died Saturday at home.
Born Dec. 26, 1961, in Teaneck, N.J., she was the daughter of John Paul Lammers (Janet), Clarks Summit; and the late Eileen R. (McCurdy) Lammers. She grew up in Middlebury, Vt., and was a graduate of Marist High School, Atlanta, Ga., and attended Trinity College, Washington, D.C. She raised her daughter, Emilia, in Scranton, before relocating to Rhode Island to work as a dedicated and respected account executive for CVS Health Benefit Division.
Virginia was an avid and talented knitter, enjoying weekly "Sit and Knit" gatherings. Her green thumb successfully revived many a friends' struggling plants, and she cultivated her own fruitful gardens. Her quick wit and thoughtful gestures brightened the days of those close to her and will be sorely missed.
Also surviving are her beloved daughter, Emilia Lispi, Madison Twp.; a brother, John Lammers (Linda), Haddon Heights, N.J.; three sisters, Patricia Lammers, Stratford, Conn.; Bethann Dekovitch (Shawn), Wayne; Barbara Bell (Matthew), Medford Lakes, N.J.; and many adored nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Claire Johnson.
The funeral will be Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1703 Jackson St., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Jose Zepeda, FSSP. Interment Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly Twp. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
