Victoria McDonald, 77, a retired teacher of the Scranton School District where she taught for more than 30 years, died at her home in South Abington Twp. after a brief illness. She was 77.
Born in Scranton on March 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Corine Broadway McDonald. She graduated from Central High School in 1963. Four years later she received a bachelor's degree in English from Marywood College and followed this up with a master's degree in classics education, also from Marywood. Gifted with a high intelligence and a warm heart, she distinguished herself both as an English teacher and as a Latin teacher.
Victoria is survived by a daughter, Alexandra Terranella, South Abington Twp.; a son, Neil Neyman and wife, Nicole, Frederick, Md.; two granddaughters, Bailee and Skylar Neyman; a cousin, Suzanne Horishny and husband, Jack, Scranton; and former husband and best friend, Ron Terranella, South Abington Twp.
The funeral will be Wednesday from St. Peter's Cathedral, 315 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
