Ruth Ann (Newton) Lindberg, 81, North Abington Twp., died Thursday in Moses Taylor Hospital. She was the wife of William "Bill" George Lindberg. The couple was married over 60 years.
Born Feb. 16, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Virginia (Miller) Newton. She graduated from North High School in Columbus, Ohio, and Beauty School in Ohio.
Ruth was a member of Countryside Community Church, Civil War Ladies Auxiliary and the Sons of the Union Veterans. She formerly was a beautician.
Surviving are two daughters, Catherine Tripp and husband, Walter, West Abington Twp.; their children, Brent, Dalton and Kyle, Chicago, Ill.; and daughter, Wendy; and her children, Jesse and Sumer Tarr; a brother, Charles Newton, Fla.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Jaggers and Mary Virginia Williams.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. from Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, with services by Pastor Mark Terwilliger of Countryside Community Church, Newton. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
