Nancy Bailey Bushko

Nancy Bailey Bushko, 93, of Waverly, PA passed peacefully at home Friday, February 23.
Born Mary Alice Graser to Rebecca Graser in Buffalo, NY, she was adopted by Guy W. and Florence S. Bailey
Nancy is survived by her sons, John A. Bushko Jr, Todd J. Bushko (Leona); daughter Anna Bushko-Dana; grandson Liam C. Dana; godson Matthew D. Mackie III (Gretchen); and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband John A. Bushko; Son-in-Law Charles P. Dana; and brother Steuart Bailey.
Nancy was a graduate of Stephens College and member of Stephens College Aviation, spending her summers working at Martha's Vineyard Airport.
After graduation she volunteered to drive ambulances for the Red Cross, and worked at the family company, SJ Bailey & Sons.
Her love of flying led her to become a flight instructor at the Scranton Municipal Airport, and continued her flying adventures into her later years at Seaman's Airport & Herb Grayek's air strip.
Lifetime member of the Ninety-Nines pilot organization and Silver Wings fraternity.
Nancy could often be seen driving around town with her basset hound "co-pilot", which brought a smile to all.
An equestrian at heart, she rode and showed Five-gaited, English, Western, and Side Saddle horses, and joined the first Abington Hills Hunt Club, started by Hunt Master Mortimer Fuller.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies, including book club, baking, gardening, and writing a book on her family's genealogy.
Her pink apple sauce, brownies, lemon meringue pies, and birthday cakes will be missed by many.
I am sure her final flight was amazing and she is now with the angels who have gone before her.
