Myles Theodore Henselder, Clarks Summit, was born into eternity, Tuesday, in Crouse Hospital. Syracuse, NY. Infant son of Joseph A. and Hannah (Dinan) Henselder, Clarks Summit.
On September 1st, 2020, at 10:07 am, Myles Theodore Henselder was born. Heartrendingly, a few precious minutes later, he was no longer with us. He had been diagnosed with Type 2 Thanatophoric Dysplasia during the pregnancy, and his parents knew this was likely the outcome. No matter how much notice they had, the both of them were devastated when the time came.
Joe and Hannah cherish every moment that they had with him, as he went peacefully in both of their arms. At the time, they weren't sure how much time they would have with him, and that made things so much harder. Shortly after he passed, the Doctors had mentioned such a beautiful thing. She told the parents about the Cuddle Cot, which was a device designed to provide more time with their son, and they didn't think twice to use it. “ We spent the rest of the day with our son, as well as the next day. Even though it seemed like such a foreign idea, it was so comforting being able to talk to sweet Myles, and tell him how much we love him” said Joe and Hannah. They were able to get that precious time that not everyone is able to have, and it helped their family so much. While sitting with Myles, his parents saw a small tag on the side of the Cuddle Cot that told them a story of a girl named Caitlyn, and how her parents lost her some odd years ago, and that they donated the Cuddle Cot in her memory. Hospitals do not buy them, they are only donated, and most Labor and Delivery rooms don't have them.
They are so appreciative of their donation of the Cuddle Cot, that they have decided to try and raise the funds to be able to do the same for other grieving families. While Joe and Hannah wish so badly that things were different, they remind themselves that Myles only knew love, and never suffered.
His parents “We love him, and will continue to love him until we are with him again. We are so grateful for our time with him, and will never forget how lucky we were to have him be apart of our lives, even if only for a short time. We are moved by the generosity of those that have helped us in our time of sorrow, and we now ask your help to pass along that sweet precious time for as many people as we can help. We love you Myles Theodore Henselder, until we hold you again. Love Mommy and Daddy
