Mildred Mary (Lash) Sefchik, Scott Twp., passed away peacefully Sunday morning at home. She was being visited and comforted by family members and friends during her time of passing.Born on Dec. 24, 1921, in Carbondale, Pa., daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Adamczyk) Lash, she was a devoted member of the Church of St. Gregory and its choir and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. Mildred enjoyed bowling, gardening, cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. Surviving are her three sons, Gregory, Hamilton, Ohio; Gordon, Waterford, Mich.; and Christopher; Scott Twp.; two brothers, Joseph, Santa Rosa, Calif.; and John Lash, Binghamton, N.Y.; two sisters, Helen Gibney, Waymart, Pa.; and Rose Lash, Chicago; five grandsons, Kirk, Joel, Austin, Neiu and Fiat Sefchik; and four granddaughters, Lauren, Kristen and Candice Sefchik and Crystal Walter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chester Sefchik; a daughter, Roxanne Sefchik; three sisters, Mary Lash, Bernadine Muir and Ann Taylor; and a brother, Frank Lash.Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, PA 18411, to be celebrated by the Rev. John M. Lapera. Interment will be at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
