Margaret M. Corbett

Margaret M. (Mikitka) Corbett, 99, of Clarks Summit, died on Thursday, at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Paul Jones Corbett who died in 2007. 

Born December 14, 1924 in Binghamton, New York she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Saxon) Mikitka.

Marge was a 1941 graduate of Binghamton Central High School and worked for Ansco's as a bookkeeper for over 14 years. She lived in Clarks Summit since 1977, moving from the Boston MA area, previously living in Camillus, N.Y and Binghamton, N.Y. Marge is a member of Our Lady of the Snows, Clarks Summit, it's Women's Guild and formerly a member and Communioncant of Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church in Binghamton. 

Marge enjoyed all types of hobbies, beadwork, sewing, etc., but her true passion was knitting and crocheting. She loved to garden and was always willing to help her neighbors in any way that she was able. She and her late husband also enjoyed hosting their friends on many occasions to play Pinochle. 

The family would like to thank Marge’s long-term caregivers, Kathy, Karin and Lyn as well as the many other caregivers throughout the years. Also, a special thank you to Allied Home Hospice for their compassionate care these last few weeks. 

Surviving is one daughter: Donna Marie Corbett of Simbury, CT, granddaughters, Emily Demers (Dylan) of Winter Garden, FL and Kali Corbett of Choctaw, OK. 

She was preceded in death by son, Robert James Corbett, sisters, Irene Cushner, Rose Dranichak, Anna Shust; brothers, Peter Mikitka and Joseph Mikitka, and granddaughter, Maggie Corbett.

The funeral will take place on Friday at 11am at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit. Interment to follow in Vestal Hills Cemetery, Vestal, NY, at 1:30pm. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10-11am at the funeral home.
