Louis M. Vescovi

Louis Michael Vescovi, 71, of South Abington Twp., died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 12 at home.Born May 2, 1953 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Bernard and Delores (Sealand) Vescovi. He graduated from South Catholic High School, Scranton in 1971 and went on to work for the family business, Biff’s Restaurant. In the 90s he left the business to pursue a career in sales.Louis (Louie) was a natural athlete. In his youth, he was recruited to play baseball for the South Scranton Dons. He played basketball, tennis, and was active in South Side Bowling and baseball leagues. He was an avid golfer and loyal Yankees fan. Louie was known for his love of shopping, impeccable style and going to the movies. He was notoriously mischievous, lovable and funny. He found joy and satisfaction in helping others and could always be counted on for a wild story and a good laugh.Surviving is a son, Benjamin Vescovi and wife, Angelica Nelson; sister, Michelle Beasley and husband, Edward; grandson, Skye Vescovi; former wife and friend, Judy Vescovi; nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Gary Vescovi.The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. from First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School St., Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. William G. Carter. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Jennings-Calvey is honored to serve Louie and his family.
