Kamila Zubik

Kamila Elzieta Zubik, 81, of Dalton, died Wednesday, July 29th 2020 in Scranton, after living with the complication of suffering a stroke in 2013.   She was the loving wife of 29 years married to the late Jerzy Zubik who died in 1996.

Kamila was born in Wilno Poland to Eugeniusz and Maria (Rudy) Maczka.  At the age of 2 her father was killed during WW II in Katyn and caring  mother raised Kamila and her sister Boguslawa as a single mom. She graduated from an Engineering Technical School in Poland.

Kamila was a loving wife and devoted mother who cherished her daughters. A faithful woman she was an avid reader, who enjoyed gardening and traveling.   A kind gentle and loving women with a giving heart and taught them their polish heritage.  She cherished her grandchildren having shared many hours with them. She instilled in daughters and her grandchildren the value of an education and offered her guidance and wisdom. Her gentle smile and giving heart will be sadly missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Ligia Zubik (Gary Kwiecinski) of Dalton, and Beata Kowalczykowska (Andrzej) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren: George and Stella Kwiecinski, Joanna and Dorota Kopczyk, and her lifelong friends.  Respectful of the Vows of marriage, she was very fond of her son in laws.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Boguslawa Sell.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30-11:15am at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411. A Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 12 pm at the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, PA 18411 to be celebrated by Rev. John M. Lapera. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family to take place in Poland.
