Jonathan Warren Tischler, 53, of Waverly, died unexpectedly on March 9, 2021. He was the husband of Rita (Sobol) Tischler.
He was born December 24, 1967, in Danville, PA, a son of the late Warren and Jean Tischler.
Jonathan graduated from Shikellamy High School, and attended Bloomsburg University. Jonathan previously owned and operated the Legends Restaurant in Salisbury, MD. Jon worked as the GSM of Dickson City Hyundai, where he excelled at car sales for many years. He also was a former partner in The Links at Hemlock Creek in Bloomsburg, PA. Jonathan was on the Board of Directors at Resilite Sports Products, Inc and was a major Shareholder. He most recently worked as a real estate agent with his wife Rita for Keller Williams Real Estate.
Jonathan was a member of the SIO fraternity.
Jonathan enjoyed golfing, gardening, wood working, and spending vacations at the beach with his family. Jonathan was a skillful chef and loved cooking with his family. His enigmatic personality made an everlasting impression on everyone he met. Those that knew him felt his generosity, and undoubtedly wish they had more time with him.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: Jacob Tischler, Pittsburgh: Jordan Tischler, Scranton; Jack Tischler, Waverly and two daughters, Emma Tischler, Bradenton, FL; Jenna Blair, Madison, AL; and one granddaughter, Bonnie Blair, Madison, AL. Jon has three sisters: Debra Gilbert, Bloomsburg, PA and Longboat Key, FL; Nancy “Tisch” Lynch, Bellingham, WA; and Susan T. Adler, Miramar Lakes, FL. Jon was preceded in death by a brother, David Tischler and a sister, Carol Tischler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 15th at 10:00 am from Church of St. Gregory, 330 North Abington Road, Clarks Green, PA to be celebrated by Fr. John Lapera. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery Olyphant, PA.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 4-6 pm on Sunday, March 14th at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc. 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
