John M. Carr, Nicholson, died Thursday afternoon after a brief illness at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was husband to Patricia Marie (Rogan) Carr. The couple had been married since Feb. 20, 1960.

Born July 4, 1940, John was the son of the late Earle Arthur and Agnes (McCarthy) Carr. John founded and ran Holly Label Company, Inc, in 1972 until he sold the business in 2005.

Surviving are two sons: John M. Carr Jr., Clarks Summit and Timothy James Carr, Nicholson; grandsons, Michael, Mathew, Nicholas and Nathan Carr, all of Clarks Summit.

He was proceeded in death by his sister, Francis Marie Carr of Scranton.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Parish, 116 Theodore St., Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Rev. Eric Bergman. The family will receive relatives and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Internment at Cathedral Cemetery, Oram Street, Scranton.
