Jane Porritt

Jane G. Porritt passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Abington Manor, Clarks Summit, at the age of 96.

Born August 21, 1917, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Sarah Greene, and her beloved husband of 49 years, John (Jack) Goff Porritt. Jane worked with the Red Cross during World War II. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved a good party.

It should also be noted her impeccable sense of fashion and style was second to none.

She is survived by her daughter, Drusilla J. Miller, Dalton; her granddaughters, Sharon and her husband, Russell Ely, Montrose; Juliet and her husband, Jon Watts, Millville; Pamela and her husband, Edward Mylet, Mountaintop; and Kristen and her husband, Robert Stevens, Greenwood, Indiana. Also surviving are her 18 great-grandchildren.

The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff and nurses at Abington Manor for the compassion and care given to her.
