James Michael Kincaid, 60, South Abington Twp., died Thursday at home. His former wife, the late Judith Randa, died in 1982. Born Sept. 13, 1953, in Pittsburgh, son of the late Charles McSpaden and Veronica "Vera" Margaret (Rodgers) Kincaid, Michael was involved in a tragic motor-vehicle accident on April 29, 1978, at the age of 24. He courageously lived life in his wheelchair for more than 36 years. He relocated to the Scranton area for rehabilitation in 2000. He was a 1971 graduate of Hampton High School, and attended Alleghany Community College. He was a craftsman by trade, and was employed as a carpenter before his accident. A happy moment in his life was meeting Hilary Clinton during her 2008 visit to Scranton, and her mentioning Mike on the Larry King Show that evening. He was a devoted Christian, who spent much of his time praying for others.He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, who enjoyed watching their games. He collected Steelers memorabilia, and was proud of his collection and clothing.The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation for the devoted and the compassionate care provided by Dr. Armando Sallavanti, Dr. Beshar Kabak, Dr. Phillip Huffman, Dr. Glen Digwood and all the caregivers. Surviving are two daughters, Judith Troyer and husband, Doug, Union City; Jessica Wadding and husband, John, Union City; his sister and best friend, Karen Robinson, Pittsburgh; two grandsons, Caiden Troyer and Johnny Wadding; a devoted family friend, Pinky Green, Pittsburgh; and his devoted caregivers and loving friends, Cindy and Merrill Greene, with whom he resided for more than 10 years.He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Mark, David, Charles and Bill Kincaid; and two sisters, Linda Best and Irene Hanula.Entombment will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from Allegheny County Memorial Park, 1600 Duncan Ave., Allison Park. Arrangements are being made by the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
