Helen (Majaika) Josephite of Fleetville was able to reach the age of 102 before passing away in her home on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. She was the wife of the late John Josephite who died July 7, 1981 and with whom she was able to share 34 years of marriage.
Born July 3, 1920 in Scranton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Seskus) Majaika.
Helen grew up on the the family farm and was a proud graduate of Benton Township Vocational High School, Class of 1938. She was later employed by the Nicholson Rug Company as a weaver.
In her free time, Helen greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening but most of all, took simple pleasure in enjoying the scenery of the family farm from her porch.
Surviving Helen is one brother, Stanley Majaika of Fleetville and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph, Lewis, and Albert Majaika, and an infant brother George.
The funeral will be Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. John Vianney Parish, 704 Montdale Road, Scott Township, Pa., with a Mass of Christian Burial by Fr. Michael J. Kirwin, Ph.D with interment at Our Mother Of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill, Pa. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. at the church.
