Gary Walsh, 65, Dalton, died Sunday in Allied Services Hospice Center. His wife of 40 years is the former Michele Parker.

Born Jan. 30, 1956 in Scranton, He was the son of the late Robert Walsh and Pauline (Walsh) Foley. He was a 1973 graduate of Abington Heights High School and Nichols College, Dudley, Mass. After college, he began his career as a masonry contractor. Gary continued the family business, Robert Walsh Masonry Contractor after his father’s death.

Gary was a fun-loving, free-spirited person with a zest for life. A kind person, he was friendly to others he met. He was fond of animals and enjoyed the nature around his home. His genuine and natural smile will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Also surviving are a son, Dylan Walsh and fiancée, Kendra Stull, both of Scranton; a brother, Lawrence (Amy) Walsh Boonsboro, Md.; two sisters, Linda (Albert) Kutyna, (Albert) Newton Twp., and Barbara Blackburn (Daryl), Durham, N.C.; and his best friend, Brian Calvey (Michele), Clarks Summit; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Frank Foley.

A private blessing service will be held at the funeral home with services by Msgr. Joseph G. Quinn, pastor of Our Lady of the Snows parish. Interment will be private, Abington Hills Cemetery.
