Born November 8, 1946 in Peckville, Gary was the son of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth R. (Tekatch Jones) Mahalidge. He was a 1964 graduate of Blakely High School and honorably served his country in the United States Navy as a Radarman aboard the USS Sampson (DDG-10) from 1966 to 1970, during which time he saw several deployments to the Mediterranean. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert J. Scheller, Jr., and his beloved fur grandson, Bandit.
The family would like to thank the dedicated team at Allied Skilled Nursing Facility for all the care and compassion they showed to Gary these past several months.
