Frank J. Brandon, 89, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday at Keystone Gardens Estate. His wife of 52 years, the former Catherine Marie Bliss, died March 31, 1999.
Born Feb. 10, 1925, in Scranton, he was the son of the late John D. and Anna Gutkowski Brandon. A Clarks Summit resident since 1952 and formerly of South Scranton, he was educated in the Scranton schools and honorably served in the Navy during World War II. He established and was part-owner of Parkton Heating & Plumbing, and later was a self-employed plumber.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish. An avid golfer, he played in several area leagues including Community Medical Center Golf League at Summit Hills.
Surviving are a cousin, Lucy Palmerino and her companion, Jim Boock, Glen Lyon; and friends including his former business partner, Russell Tully, Scranton.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Ray Brandon, who died Jan. 12, 2009.
The funeral will be Saturday with Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Snows Memorial Fund, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
