Florence M. Koval

Florence M. Tityk Koval, 79, of Clarks Green died on Friday December 20 in Allied Hospice Center following a courageous battle with lung cancer. Florence was the wife of the late Michael J. Koval who died in October 2020. The couple would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on February 17, 2025.

Florence was born on June 2, 1945 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Stella Tityk Malinski (formerly Cook) and Edward Tityk.

Florence worked for many years as a Customer Service Representative at Harper Collins Publisher before retiring in 2020. She was a devout Catholic and a practicing member of The Church of St. Gregory’s in Clarks Green for more than 40 years. Those who knew Florence all appreciated her kindness and generosity. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was a forgiving and loving woman who was an amazing example of bravery and strength to her children, grandchildren and those who were close to her. Florence enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she was always ready to have a good time with those she cared about.

Surviving are two sons, Michael and wife Lisa of Palmyra, PA and David of Clarks Green, one daughter, Tara and partner Tom Sarnoski of Clarks Summit, six grandchildren and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her brother Raymond Tityk and sister Barbara Muller.

The funeral will be Monday, December 30 at 10:00 am from Church Of St. Gregory, 330 North Abington Road, Clarks Green, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated. Interment Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton, PA. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday from 9 – 9:50am at the church.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Florence’s name to Allied Hospice Center 511 Morgan Highway Scranton, PA 18508.
