Florence Marek Cruciani, 85, of Clarks Green, passed away Sunday. She was the loving wife of 63 years, married to her high school sweetheart, Dr. Dominick Cruciani Jr.
Born in Olyphant, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Pasco Marek. After graduating from Olyphant high school, she attended St. Mary's Nursing School, Honesdale.
Also surviving are four children, Dr. Mary Cruciani, Danville; Dr. Mark Cruciani and spouse, Jackie, Clarks Summit; Susan Cruciani, Collegeville; and Ellen Sica and spouse, Vincent, Fairfax Station, Va.
She was "Noni" to her 13 grandchildren and three new great-grandchildren, whom she loved and cherished.
Born the fifth of eight children, she is survived by three brothers, Joseph, Walter and Frank Marek; and a sister, Geraldine Marek.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Dominick James and infant son, Phillip; and three sisters, Irene Fuardo, Maxine Koberecki and Emilia Stoshak (Milcha).
Being an Army wife for roughly 10 years, Florence enjoyed traveling the world. She loved her yearly trips to Las Vegas and could be seen (winning) at the casino. She had a strong Catholic faith and was a member of St. Gregory's Parish. Florence was very proud and loved to celebrate her Polish heritage.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Scheer for his compassionate care during Florence's life.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Rev. John Lapera. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Scott Twp.
The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
