Edna Rachkowski

Edna Stetz Rachkowski, 89, of Clarks Summit, formerly of Duryea, died Saturday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Facility, Dunmore. She was the widow of Leonard Rachkowski, who died Oct. 7, 1992.Born Sept. 21, 1926, in Duryea, daughter of the late Michael and Mary Stetz, she was a graduate of Duryea High School. Before retirement, she was a seamstress for area garment manufacturers.The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Hospice of the Sacred Heart.Surviving are a son, Richard L. Rachkowski and wife, Catherine, Clarks Summit; granddaughter, Amy Rachkowski, Mount Shasta, Calif.; a grandson, Eric Rachkowski, Driggs, Idaho; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, David L. Rachkowski; two brothers, Frank and Thomas Stetz; and three sisters, Florence Krafjack, Stephanie Potter and Jean Potter.Private services will be by the Rev. John V. Polednak, pastor, Nativity of Our Lord Church, Duryea. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Duryea.Arrangements are entrusted in Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
