Donna Lee (Rinaldi) Fleming, 71, of Clarks Summit, PA, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She valiantly fought to the very end, with the courage and strength of a mother who only wanted more time with her family. Born on May 11, 1953, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Muriel (Brennan) Rinaldi. A 1971 graduate of West Scranton High School, Donna married her high school sweetheart, William “Flip” Fleming, Sr. and they were to celebrate their 53rd anniversary this year. An inseparable couple, they shared love and devotion for the ages. It was so pure and evident in every part of their lives. They were everything to each other.
Donna was a graduate of West Scranton High School and Lackawanna College, with a career in data processing at Tobyhanna Army Depot and International Correspondence School. After a dedicated 25-year career, she joined her daughter Danielle to help her start what would become a thriving family business; first as Danielle & Company, currently as Noteology. Not only did she manage the bookkeeping of the company for some time, she also ran the production team for over 20 years; working side-by-side with her daughter, a blessing Danielle will cherish for her lifetime. If you were a customer of either of these companies, there’s a good chance that Donna made a product for you. Passionate about quality, consistency and always putting the customer first, her dedicated work ethic shines through to her daughter every day. Twenty-four years later, Donna was instrumental in the growth and success of these brands.
But above all else, being a wife, mother and grandmother was her greatest calling. A mother of two and a mom-like figure to many, the lights of her life were her two children, Danielle Fleming (Mark Bonfiglio) of Dunmore, PA; William Fleming, Jr. (Zoe Moody) of Clarks Summit, PA., and her three grandchildren, Tyriek, Jocelyn and Jameson. There was nothing on this Earth that made her happier than being with her family. From birthday parties and holidays, to trips to LBI and NYC, she was her happiest when the family was all together at the same time.
A friend to many, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, selflessness and unwavering love. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sister, Sharon Mogck, S. Abington Twp; and brother/sister in laws, John Mogck & Jingyan Zhou of Marlton, NJ; Jeffrey & Lorraine Fleming of Laguna Beach, FL; Denise & Calvin Koch of Boca Raton, FL; Tamra & Mark Brier of Jefferson Twp.; Ellyn Fleming of Asheville, NC; and 14 nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her equally loving parents, Muriel and Salvatore Rinaldi, Jr.
If you knew Donna, you knew her greatest gift to this world was her selflessness, love and kindness for all. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman on Tuesday, February 4th from 4-6 pm at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411. The funeral will be at 11 am on Wednesday, February 5th with a celebration of life service by Pastor Michael R. Hauser at The Grove Church, 1145 Providence Rd., Scranton. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.
