Diane Lewis

Diane (Krol) Lewis, 79, of Newport, PA, died on Fridayin UPMC Harrisburg. She was the former wife of the late Russell L. Lewis. The couple married on December 13, 1969.

Born November 20, 1943, at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Lt. JohnM. and the late Marie C. (Lukus) Krol.

Diane was a 1961 graduate of St. John’s High School in Pittston and a 1965 graduate of Wilkes College. She worked for Penn Foster as a customer service rep.

Diane was a former member of Lackawanna County Bassmasters and the Wyoming County Pool League. She enjoyed quilting, needlework and crafts, bass fishing,playing pool, and traveling to New Orleans. Surviving aretwo sons, Jonathan Lewis of Newport and Michael Lewis(Jean) of Newport; daughter Melissa M. Lewis of New York City, NY; grandsons Justin Michael Lewis (Emily) and Matthew David Lewis; granddaughter Ayla Marie Lewis; and great-granddaughter Arabella Lewis.

A private cremation will take place at Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA, at their on-site crematory. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
