Debra L. (Jacoby) Kovall, 67, of Clarks Summit, died Monday at home. She is at peace after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Thomas R. Kovall, who died July 15, 2007. The couple was married 33 years.
Debbie was born April 6, 1951, in Scranton, the daughter of the late Howard and Dorothy (Huggler) Jacoby. She lived in the Abingtons all of her life and was a 1969 graduate of Abington Heights High School and completed her cosmetology certification. She was a licensed beautician at Bonne's Place and later Wendy's Hair Salon, Chinchilla. She was a faithful member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Jermyn, where she was an active volunteer.
Debbie deeply loved her family and was so very grateful for the loving care they shared with her the last four years. She spent her life selflessly helping others and never complained.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her three grandchildren and she truly cherished every minute she had with them.
She loved to travel, especially to the beach with her family and playing "Pitch" cards with her sisters. The family would like to thank AseraCare Hospice for its compassionate supportive care. Debbie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She will remain forever in our hearts.
