Debra Anne Jenkin

Debra Anne Jenkin, 67, of Grand Prairie, TX, formerly of Honesdale and Chinchilla, died unexpectedly of natural causes at home on Monday, March 21, 2022.

     Born April 25, 1954 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Florence Edna (Hartley) Jenkin.

     Debra graduated from Abington Heights High School in 1972 and earned her Bachelor of Arts from Lycoming College, Williamsport, PA.  She worked for many years in the field of educational publishing at Highlights for Children Magazine and later for Harcourt, Brace, Jovanovich.

     For many years Debra volunteered as a Junior Achievement mentor.  Her Christian faith was extremely important to her throughout her life and she was an active participant in several churches.  She enjoyed reading, hiking, crafts, music, photography and other fine arts. 

     Surviving are three sisters:  Linda Fleenor and husband, David, of Gastonia, NC, Barbara Clarke and husband, Steven, of Sandwich, MA, Judy McGowan and husband, Paul, of Dunkirk, MD, 3 nieces and a nephew.

     The funeral will be Friday, May 6, at 11:30 am from Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA.  Interment, Abington Hills Cemetery, S. Abington Twp.  The family will receive relatives and friends Friday from 10:30am to 11:30am at the funeral home.

     Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
