David Phillip Gerard Vorozilchak, 64, of Clarks Summit, passed away unexpectedly Friday at Geisinger Community Medical Center surrounded by his family. His loving wife of 32 years, the former Judy Darlak, was by his side.Born Jan. 24, 1951, in Scranton, he was the son of Lillian Claire Vorozilchak, Scranton, and the late Phillip Alex Vorozilchak. David attended the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, where he received a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1973 and in 1996, he received his master's in health care administration from the University of Scranton. After attending pharmacy school, David worked as a pharmacist at Geisinger Community Medical Center for 39 years and for seven of those years, he served as the director of pharmacy. David was always a nurturing and giving man, constantly helping those around him, and always a gentleman. He spent many years coaching soccer, ice hockey and baseball teams, always proud to support his children. If not coaching, he was always cheering on his children and always faithfully videotaping. David has been a mentor to many lives, sharing his infinite joy for life and his unconditional love. Through it all, his true passion was to be a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. His greatest legacy will be carried on through his children and grandchildren. Also surviving are children, Michael Vorozilchak and wife, Meredith, Geneva, N.Y.; Melissa Agosin and husband, Mike, Clarks Summit; Kristin Kowalek and husband, Eric, Milton; David Vorozilchak Jr. and wife, Laura, Shavertown; his six grandchildren, Parker Vorozilchak, Gabriella and Thomas Agosin, Jackson, Savannah and Travis Kowalek; sister, Phyllis Ruzbarsky and husband, Joseph, Clarks Summit; brother, James Vorozilchak, Scranton; mother-in-law, Viola Darlak, Clarks Summit; godmother, Monica Kashuba; and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.The funeral Mass will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory Parish, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, to be celebrated by the Rev. John M. Lapera.
