David G. O'Hara Jr., 30, Philadelphia, died Monday at home.
Born Jan. 6, 1984, in Scranton, he was the son of David (a former employee of The Times-Tribune) and Margaret (Noone) O'Hara Sr. of Lavallette, N.J., and Auburndale, Fla. Formerly of Dalton, he was a 2002 graduate of Abington Heights High School, and received his bachelor's degree in political science from Temple University, Philadelphia. A political activist, he was a campaign finance director for several political campaigns.
He was a member of Church of St. Gregory and political professional committees and organizations.
Also surviving are aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Noone O'Hara, who died June 18, 1995; his paternal grandparents, Gerard and Florence (McGeary) O'Hara; and maternal grandparents, George and Marge (Wilson) Noone.
The funeral will be Monday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. from Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, to be celebrated by the Rev. John M. Lapera. Interment, Cathedral CemeA�A�tery, Scranton.
The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
