Christopher George Gawrys

Christopher George Gawrys, 58, of Clarks Summit, died on Sunday, in Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was the husband of Mary Lou (Holden) who died in 2015.

Born April 2, 1966 in Chicago, Indiana, he was son the of Carol (Jamrozik) and the late George Gawrys. Chris honorably served his country in the United States Army.

He worked for many years as the general manager for multiple local car dealerships and obtained many trade certifications.

Chris enjoyed fishing, riding quads and dirt bikes, shooting, going to antique auctions, the Manheim car auction and pawn shops. He was a big conspiracy theorist and enjoyed discussing the latest theories with his friends, family, and anyone who would lend an ear. He was a car enthusiast and was most fond of Mustangs, especially the illustrious Saleen and Rouch Cobra. He loved all animals from dogs and cats to crows and squirrels. Chris's greatest love though, was his family. His love story with his wife was nothing short of epic and his children and grandchildren meant the world to him.

A special thanks to the medical team of the ICU at Regional Hospital of Scranton for their compassionate care.

Survivors include Nikki King (Robert “Rocky”) of Shelbyville, KY, Katti Gawrys, Bridgette Hoffman (Thomas), and Rebecca Gawrys (Daughter), all of Clarks Summit; grandchildren: Katti, Jason, and TJ Christopher Hoffman; siblings, Christine Roberts (Bryan), Bridgette Gawrys Cannella (Ethan), Georgeanna Gawrys Fenton (Adrian) and Brent Gawrys (Courtney); mother-in-law, Pat Holden, sisters and brothers in law, Bonnie and Roy Russell, Richard and Lisa Holden Jr.; nieces, nephews and his few, close and loyal friends.

In addition to his incredible wife who was the love of his life, Christopher is preceded in death by his grandparents, father, and father-in-law, Richard Holden.
