Bobby Shirley

Bobby G. Shirley, 72 years, of Falls, passed away on Tuesday at home. He was the loving husband of 50 years married to the former Jerilyn Whitbeck.

Born September 27, 1941 in Pampa, Texas, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary Lee (Carter) Shirley. Bobby was raised in Levelland, Texas and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1962 on the destroyer USS Myles C. Fox as a radioman and attained the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class.

Bobby was employed throughout his life by various companies in engineering positions including Ford Motor Co., Specialty Records and the Tunkhannock Area School District from where he retired.

Bobby will always be remembered for his integrity, relentless spirit and willingness to assist and mentor others. He will also be remembered for his ability to fix anything, his funny stories and large personality. He was well-liked by all who had the opportunity to meet him. Until we meet again Big Guy, we'll be "hanging in."
