Anna O'Boyle

Ann M. "Anna" O'Boyle, 102 years "young," left this earth peacefully on Sunday, June 21 at St. Mary's Villa in Elmhurst. She was the widow of James O'Boyle, who died in 1998. Born January 27, 1913, in Scranton and was the daughter of the late James P. and Mary Beck McAuliffe. She was educated in the Scranton schools. Ann was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter and friend who always had a kind encouraging word or funny story for anyone she met.Ann's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the administration, doctors, staff and workers of St. Mary's Villa. Their professionalism, care and utmost compassion for all of their residents helped make Ann's last three years there a comfortable and joyous experience.Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann O'Boyle, Clarks Summit; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and a multitude of friends.Ann was also preceded in death by five brothers, Paul, Wendell "Bud," John, James and Robert McAuliffe; and a sister, Marguerite McPhillips.The funeral will be Saturday from Our Lady of the Snows Church, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, will be private at the convenience of the family.The family will receive relatives and friends Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jennings Calvey Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit, PA 18411.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Villa Residents Fund, 516 St. Mary's Villa Road, Elmhurst Township, PA 18444.
