Angelina "Lillie" Montanaro Fiume, 94, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday at the VNA Hospice Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center. She was the widow of Angelo Fiume.
Born Dec. 4, 1920, in Kent, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Teresa Conenna Montanaro, Lillie was a graduate of Long Island City schools and went on to work in the local garment industry as a seamstress. She later became the owner and operator of a pizza shop and vending company in Astoria, N.Y. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Astoria, and its Altar and Rosary Society, and more recently a member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish, Clarks Summit.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Puleo and husband, Larry, Clarks Summit; three sons, Andrew and wife, Annette, West Hempstead, N.Y.; Frank, Naples, Fla.; and Ronald Fiume and wife, Barbara, Madison, Conn.; six grandchildren, Frank and wife, Nadine; Donna and husband, Robert; Michael, Marissa, Ron and Steven; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor-Marie, Frankie, Madison and Bobby; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Victor "Cosmo" Montanaro; and three sisters, Rose Rains, Josephine Corr and infant sister, Anna.The funeral will be Thursday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment, Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, N.Y.
The family will receive relatives and friends today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service Inc., 111 Colburn Ave., Clarks Summit.
