Adele M. (Rydzefski) Demchak, 86, Clarks Summit, died Jan. 23 at home. She was the wife of Anthony Demchak, who died Sept. 1, 2005. The couple was married for 58 years.Born March 13, 1928, in Peckville, daughter of the late Alexander and Cecelia (Spager) Rydzefski, she lived in Clarks Summit for more than 60 years, and was formerly of Peckville. She was a 1945 graduate of Blakely High School, where she was an honor roll student four consecutive years. Before retirement, she worked at International Correspondence School as an instructor.She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. Adele was a volunteer for more than 30 years at Mercy Hospital and at Our Lady of Peace School in the library and hot lunch program. She was an entrepreneur, owning and operating Adele's Jewelry business. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds.Surviving are a daughter, June Ellen Solliday, Lansdale; two sons, Robert and wife, Lisa, Alpharetta, Ga.; and Paul Demchak, M.D., Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Blake and Brook Solliday and Shera Demchak; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Edward M. Rydzefski.Mass of Christian Burial was held in Our Lady of the Snows Church, celebrated by Monsignor James J. McGarry, with interment at Holy Trinity Parish Cemetery, Swoyersville.Memorial contributions may be made to Albright Memorial Library, 500 Vine St., Scranton, PA 18509.
