Patricia Elizabeth (Wood) Marx, RN 60 years, Clarks Summit, died Wednesday, at home. She was the wife of Dr. David E. Marx. The couple celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary, February 17, 2013.

Born March 24,1953 in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Janet (Brooks) Wood. She lived in Clarks Summit since 1993. She received her bachelor of Science in psychology and religious studies , Marywood University, She received her Master's Degree in Nursing from Binghamton University and continued her education receiving her Master's Degree in Theology from the University of Scranton.

Before her illness she was a registered nurse with Traditional Home Health and Hospice, Dunmore. She also was a part time Faculty member at Penn State University, at the Worthington Scranton Campus, Dunmore, were she had taught nursing over twelve years. Pat formerly was a registered nurse at Geisinger Medical Center, Wyoming Valley.

She was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Snows Parish, Clarks Summit and its Women's Guild and previously served as Director of Religious Education for several years. As a dedicated care giver she was a member of professional organization, including The Jesuit Honor Society, National Society of Honors in Nursing.

Also surviving are two sons: Joshua Yoder and wife Maryellen, Cary, NC, David Yoder and wife Christine, Norwalk, CT, three daughters: Susan Jones and husband Harold "Hodge", Cherry Hill, NJ, Bethany Benko and husband Bernard, Archbald, Kathleen Yoder, Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren, Nathan Kupus, Sarah and Hannah Benko, Morgan, Christian, and William, Jones, Quinn and Nora Yoder, a sister: Janet Leonard and husband Donald, Kansas City, KS, sister in law, Lorraine Wood, Chapel Hill , NC. She was preceded in death by brother, Edward Wood, who did in 1997.

The funeral will be Monday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am from St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William Street, Pittston,18640 with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Msgr. John J. Bendik and concelebrant Msgr. James J. McGarry. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday 4 pm - 6pm at the Jennings-Calvey Funeral and Cremation Service, Inc., 111 Colburn Avenue, Clarks Summit, PA 18411 and Monday, at the Church 9:30 am - 10:45 am.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Traditional Home Health and Hospice , 113 West Drinker Street, Dunmore, PA 18512.
